The Fiori launchpad is the single entry point to everything you do in SAP S/4HANA. Instead of typing transaction codes into a command field, you open a web browser, navigate to your company's Fiori URL, and log in once. What you see next is your personal home page, built from tiles arranged in groups.

Each tile represents one app. Tiles come in a few flavors:

• Static tiles simply launch an app, for example "Create Supplier Invoice" or "My Spend".
• Dynamic tiles show a live number or KPI on the face of the tile, such as "Overdue Items: 14". The figure refreshes automatically so you can spot work that needs attention before you even click.
• News and link tiles point to internal pages, dashboards, or external sites.

Tiles are organized into groups — labelled rows such as "Procurement", "Financial Accounting", or "My Apps". Across the very top sits the shell bar, which stays visible no matter which app you open. The shell bar holds the SAP logo (click it to return home from anywhere), the enterprise search magnifier, the notification bell, and your user avatar menu.

A crucial concept is that Fiori is role-based. You only see the tiles and apps that match the business role assigned to your user. An accounts payable clerk sees invoice and payment apps; a buyer sees purchase order and supplier apps. If you believe you are missing an app you need, that is a security role question for your SAP administrator.

To open an app, simply click its tile. A back arrow appears in the shell bar so you can step back toward the home page.
