What it actually means
Document splitting is active and a required split characteristic (usually profit center or segment) is missing on a line.
Why it happens
- The line item has no profit center and none can be derived.
- The G/L account is not classified correctly for document splitting.
- A default profit center or derivation rule is missing for that account or business transaction.
How to fix it
- 1Enter the profit center (or segment) manually on the offending line to get moving.
- 2Check the document splitting classification of the G/L account in configuration.
- 3Set up a default profit center or a derivation (substitution / FAGL3KEH) so the value derives automatically.
Stopping it happening again
Classify every new G/L account for document splitting when it is created.
