What the exam covers

How to study for it

  1. 1Understand the CO master data hierarchy: cost centers, cost elements (now G/L accounts in S/4HANA), activity types.
  2. 2Practise planning vs actual and the allocation cycle (assessment/distribution).
  3. 3Learn product costing: standard cost estimate (CK11N), cost component split, variances.
  4. 4Get comfortable with CO-PA reporting (KE30) and how margins are built.
  5. 5Time your practice exams and review every wrong answer’s reasoning.

Sample practice questions

1. Which transaction creates a standard cost estimate for a material?

  • A. KP06
  • B. CK11N✓ correct
  • C. KSB1
  • D. KO88

Why: CK11N creates a material cost estimate. KP06 plans cost center costs, KSB1 shows cost center line items, KO88 settles an internal order.

2. In S/4HANA, cost elements are now represented primarily as:

  • A. A separate CO master record
  • B. G/L accounts of type "primary/secondary costs"✓ correct
  • C. Statistical key figures
  • D. Profit centers

Why: S/4HANA merges cost elements into the G/L account master (account types for primary and secondary costs), part of the Universal Journal unification.
