FAGLL03HFI-GL

SAP FAGLL03HG/L Account Line Item Browser

In S/4HANA the separate FI and CO tables were merged into one universal journal table, ACDOCA. Every posting lives there, with its account, cost centre, profit centre, segment and more on the same row.

FAGLL03H is the browser written for that. It reads ACDOCA directly, so it copes with volumes that make the older report crawl, and it lets you filter and group on far more fields without building a custom report.

Think of it as the same question as FAGLL03 with a faster engine and a more flexible front end. If you are on S/4HANA and an account is big, reach for this one.

Illustrative recreation.Ledger is a required field in the browser, not an optional one — Drawn for training with invented data; not a capture of a real SAP system. Fields with a blue border are required. SAP is a trademark of SAP SE.

The fields, in plain English

LedgerACDOCA-RLDNR

Required here, unlike FAGLL03 where blank defaults to leading. You must state which set of books you want.

Watch out: People used to FAGLL03 leave it blank and get an error. Enter 0L for the leading ledger.

Item status

Open, cleared or all — the same distinction as everywhere else in FI.

Posting dateACDOCA-BUDAT

The primary way to keep the result set sensible. ACDOCA holds every posting ever made across FI and CO.

Additional dimensions

Because ACDOCA carries FI and CO on one row, you can filter directly by cost centre, profit centre, segment, functional area or order without joining anything.

Step by step

  1. 1Enter the ledger — this is mandatory.
  2. 2Enter company code and G/L account.
  3. 3Set a posting date range.
  4. 4Add any dimension filters you need, such as cost centre.
  5. 5Execute and work with the result in the ALV grid.
  6. 6Double-click through to the document as usual.

Errors you will hit, and what they mean

Transaction FAGLL03H does not exist

Why: The system is not on S/4HANA, or the component providing the browser is not active.

Fix: Use FAGLL03 instead. FAGLL03H is an S/4HANA transaction and will not be present on classic ECC.

Ledger is a required entry

Why: Left blank out of habit from FAGLL03.

Fix: Enter the leading ledger, usually 0L.

Figures differ from FAGLL03 for the same account

Why: Different ledger selected, or a date range difference.

Fix: Align the ledger and the posting date range on both before treating it as a data problem.

Common questions

Should I use FAGLL03 or FAGLL03H?

On S/4HANA with a high-volume account, FAGLL03H. For everyday work FAGLL03 is familiar and fine. They report the same postings.

What is the universal journal?

ACDOCA — the single table S/4HANA uses for FI and CO postings, replacing the old split across BSEG, FAGLFLEXA, COEP and others. One row carries both the accounting and the controlling view.

Does it exist in ECC?

No. It is S/4HANA only.
